The Habits of Successful Leaders

Self-Leadership

The first habit of successful leaders is self-leadership. As a leader, you must first lead yourself before you can lead others. This involves taking responsibility for your actions and decisions, being proactive, and staying true to your values. By mastering self-leadership, you set the foundation for effective leadership.

Theme Consciousness

The second habit of successful leaders is theme consciousness. Theme consciousness involves identifying the themes and patterns that shape your life and leadership. By understanding these themes, you can create a vision for your future and align your actions with your purpose, thus transcending to the 3rd level of consciousness where the core thought is responsibility, the core feeling is forgiveness & the core action/result is cooperation with self and others! This allows you to lead with intention and inspiration.

Power of Influence

The third habit of successful leaders is the power of influence. As a leader, you can inspire and motivate others. By mastering the power of influence, you can create a positive impact and drive change within your organization or community. This involves building relationships, communicating effectively, and leading by example.

Basic ways that a leader uses the power of influence involve:

  • Understanding your audience: Take the time to research and understand the interests, values, and needs of the people you want to influence. Tailor your message to resonate with them.
  • Building rapport: Establish a genuine connection by showing empathy, active listening, and understanding. People are more likely to be influenced by those they trust and feel understood by.
  • Using persuasive language: Craft your message using language that is clear, concise, and compelling. Use storytelling, emotional appeal, and logic to engage your audience and convey your ideas effectively.
  • Providing evidence: Back up your claims with facts, statistics, or real-life examples. People are more likely to be influenced when they see evidence that supports your arguments.
  • Highlighting benefits: Clearly communicate the benefits and value of your ideas or proposals. Show how they can positively impact the lives of the people you want to influence.
  • Using social proof: Highlight examples of others who have successfully adopted your ideas or solutions. People tend to follow the crowd, so showcasing success stories can be persuasive.
  • Being confident and credible: Project confidence in yourself and your ideas. Establish your credibility through expertise, experience, or research to gain trust and influence.
  • Appealing to emotions: Understand the emotional triggers of your audience and tailor your message to tap into those emotions. Emotions can be powerful motivators for action.
  • Providing a call to action: Clearly state what you want your audience to do and provide a clear and easy path for them to take action. Make it simple and compelling for them to act upon your influence.

Leaders vs. Followers

The fourth habit of successful leaders is understanding the difference between leaders and followers. Leaders are visionaries who inspire others to achieve their goals. Followers are those who work to achieve the vision of the leader. By understanding the roles of leaders and followers, you can create a cohesive team and achieve greater success.

There’s also an important thing to pay attention to so you don’t misunderstand the leader for a follower or the follower for a leader! For example, if a person is in a low economic state and is putting effort to create income, and therefore, chooses a job as an employee to have a basic income, the person can rely on that income to build more sources of income to become independent. That person is not a follower, but a leader in heart, slowly progressing and creating the life that he/she desires, becoming a true leader in the end, both internally & externally, influencing people and leading by example!

Also, the natural process of becoming a true leader starts by being a follower of other real leaders!

Due to meritocracy being a standard in society, not all people that want to become leaders start from the same level! Never underestimate people! You cannot evaluate a person unless you truly know his/her background.
